Dominican Liturgical Center Choir
The Dominican Liturgical Center Choir, directed by Ewa Kieres, works to spread valuable sacred music. They sing various styles of sacred music, sharing sacred music at both liturgical and cultural events. They have performed works by Vivaldi, Händel, Brahms, Grieg, Dvořák, Fauré, Poulenc, Duruflé, and other composers.
The choir’s inaugural Mass occurred June 29, 2015 in the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, where they presented works by Gabriel Fauré. Later that year, they helped celebrate the 799th Anniversary of the Founding of the Dominican Order on December 22, 2015 with Händel's Te Deum.
In 2016, the choir sang Dvořák, including his Mass in D Major, on several occasions. They also focused on Marian music throughout the year, singing works from composers such as Johannes Brahms, Edvard Grieg and Marek Raczyński. They prepared music for Vespers on the Solemnity of the Annunciation along with Antonio Vivaldi's Magnificat Orchestra.
Choristers attend regular rehearsals and workshops to improve their vocal skills. This dedication reflects their concern for beauty in the liturgy. At the Dominican Liturgical Center, we not only want the choir to present music at a high artistic level, but we also hope that the choir is a community where choristers can adore the Lord and experience His sanctifying grace. Therefore, the choir participates in common prayer, Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Father Grzegorz Doniec OP provides religious supervision for the choir.
